Book Festival Fringe talks & book signings 20-22nd OCTOBER 2023
This year our third Fringe Book Festival will take place in the private rooms at the iconic Chain Locker pub, on Customs House Quay, Falmouth. Spanning three days, we will bring together thirteen talented local authors to let us into their literary worlds and enlighten us about their processes and inspirations, as well as read a few extracts and sign a few books…
Friday 20th – Hermitage Press Authors
10:00 Clare Dwyer: Author of poetry collection Murmurations, launched in January 2023
12:00 Scott Jones: Children’s author of Jack and the Time Machine.
14:00 Robin Falvey: YA Author of Fulmar which launched in August
15:30 Polly Roberts: Together We Evolve is Polly’s first publication with The Hermitage Press.
17:00 Kath Morgan: Author of The Bycatch Principle, this talk co-hosted by Dr Paul Taylor-McCartney.
Saturday 21st – Short Stories, non-fiction & memoir Authors
10:00 Emma Timpany: A collection of short and other stories
12:00 Cornish Writers: On their two volumes of Short Stories by local authors
14:00 Paula Rooney: Odd Poles and baggy trousers a book based on her Camino experience
16:00 Sue Kittow: Successful Non-Fiction author and latest fiction book The Rescue
Sunday 22nd – Fiction & Thriller Authors
10:00 Lamorna Ireland: Author of Unexpected Beginnings, Unexpected Truths, and Along a Cornish Creek
12:00 Jane McParkes: Author of A Deadly Inheritance, a cosy mystery set in Cornwall with an eco theme
14:00 Roz Watkins: Author of the newly released and Times top 100 summer reads The Red House
16:00 Liz Fenwick: The Queen of Cornish Romance talks about her latest book The Secret Shore
We have to say a big thanks to Hermitage Press for sponsoring a whole day of our festival, which has, in turn, allowed us to reach a wider audience. And to St Austell Brewery who have allowed us to use two of spacious, first floor, private function rooms (lift is available for those who can’t manage the stairs), as well as provide our visitors with a selection of refreshments and tasty food throughout the day in one of its best pubs.
