The Redruth Book Feast organisers are delighted to announce an exciting weekend of literary speakers, fringe events (including performance poetry, music, and fabulous food), a pop-up book shop, and more.

This is the first time a book festival has come to the town and it is hoped this will become an annual event.

The theme for the weekend is Home, what home means, the impact of second homeowners, and what homelessness means; we are taking Terry Waite’s presence as the starting point for our theme of ‘What does home mean to us?’ From our safe spaces, our front doors to our communities and the wider world.

With contributions from Patrick Gale, Tom Cox, Catrina Davies, Wyl Menmuir, Natasha Carthew, and Tom Watson, it is set to be a wonderful weekend; the Saturday culminating in a fabulous feast in the company of after-dinner speaker Terry Waite CBE, followed by Q&A and book signing.

Redruth has a rich history in the creative industries as well as holding the legacy of being the heart of Cornish Mining, with everything, both good and bad, which that brings. It has informed both our choice of speakers and our theme for the weekend.

The Redruth Drapery is a recently reimagined event space and is our base for the weekend. With its intimate atmosphere, eclectic decor and imaginative hosts it is a space worthy of a Feast.

On Saturday evening, the ‘Feast’ is being provided by The Grow Box, a local company with Michelin star personnel, committed to providing local food with world-class imagination.

The festival will take place on 22nd and 23rd April 2023 and tickets are available from https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/redruth-book-feast or in person (cash only) from Redruth Library and The Grow Box.

The event has been made possible by our Headline sponsor, Cornish Lithium, with additional contributions from Redruth Town Council and  FEAST.
