When Laura’s partner leaves her for another woman, they have to sell the family home, move house and change schools. Their 13 year old daughter, Jess, is devastated and tries to cope by losing weight and getting fit, running for hours along the Cornish coast path. But gradually her eating veers out of control and mealtimes become a battleground.

When Jess is finally diagnosed with anorexia, Laura vows to do anything to help her fight this fierce, constant battle against starvation. But Jess refuses to admit she has a problem.

Can Laura persuade Jess to get help before she becomes dangerously ill?

About the author

An ex-journalist Sue now writes contemporary women’s fiction with an underlying theme which can be overcoming grief, second chances, how to live with anorexia, dealing with a problem rescue dog – everyday dilemmas that many of us face.

Sue suffered from anorexia years ago,and wanted to give some insight into this baffling and terrifying disease, as well as pass on a message of hope that there is life after an eating disorder.
It’s taken her many years to write this book, for although Jess’s story isn’t hers, revisiting the brutality of anorexia has been extremely hard, and shaping it into a story that wasn’t depressing has been quite a challenge.
