Falmouth & Penryn Fringe Book Festival

Join us in October for three afternoons and evenings of talks by local authors, workshops, themed quizzes, panel discussions, wine tastings and a writing session with a twist.

Sponsored by St Austell Brewery, Hermitage Press and Terrace Gallery, the Festival takes place on Friday 18th, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th of October in the private rooms upstairs in The Chain Locker Pub, Customs House Quay, Falmouth. Our festival doors open for registration from 11:30 each day and refreshments are available throughout the day.

Wednesday 16th – Bookish quiz – £1pp entry

Compiled by the infamous Chain Locker Quiz Master. You could win a worthy bar tab and bundles of books by local authors at the Chain Locker Pub, Customs House Quay. And all the proceeds go towards running the Fringe Book Festival. Kicks off at 7:00pm

Friday 18th – Inspired by Cornwall

11:45 – FREE Poetry workshop, run by Ella w Bell the force behind the Mor Poets collective, and highly successful swim/surf poetry collections Morvoren & Mordardah

Sunday 20th – Crime and Passion

12:00  – FREE hour Shut up and Write session for budding authors and those working on a piece of writing or novel. Hosted by Paula Winzar and crime writer Roz Watkins. SU&W gives you a precious hour of uninterrupted time to work on your project, with optional socialising afterwards to meet fellow writers.

14:00 – FREE 2hr long Sketching session around the historic location of The Chain Locker with 13 Cornish Ghost Stories illustrator Derek Hayes and Urban Sketch artist Dave Pentin.

Our festival is run by volunteers, our talks and events are kindly given free by the authors and our sponsors help pay for the publicity materials, so please donate within your means but as generously as you can to ensure we can continue to run this amazing festival
